It's been recently brought to my attention that a few KB owners have been having difficulty swapping pullies. I've even heard of shops unable to remove the pulley using impacts turned up to 400+ ft/lbs! As I've previously experienced the problem, I figured I'd put together a quick "How To" using some pics my buddy Xplicit recently took.
It's been a busy summer at work so I've kinda fallen behind a bit when it comes to the Cobra, but this weekend it was time to finally install the Gord's Heat Exchanger and Vortech H2O Tank Upgrade.
The stock Mach 460 sound system that came with the Cobra, though a big step up from most "stock" systems, definitely ain't audiophile quality. Mid-highs are a little too muted for my tastes and the low-mids are also somewhat muddy. Not bad if all you care about is something fairly loud, but being a home and mobile audio enthusiast, it was high time for an upgrade. ;)
I had originally reinstalled my old MTX Thunder 6500D sub amp along with the 3x10" Thunder 6000 sub box using some speaker to line level convertors off the rear amplifiers. It sounded much better, but the lack of highs needed to be addressed so I went ahead and decided to replace everything.
The head unit I decided to go with was the Eclipse CD8454.
In the quest of taking 2tons to 1.85tons, I knew that I was going to install a carbon fiber hood. The one available from Niche PI looked very nice (2k cobra r), but maoun had all sorts of problems w/ the vendor so I decided to look locally. That's when I came across Vis Racing in Industry. Primarily an import bodykit/carbon fiber shop, they started getting into the domestic market and picked the Mustang as one of the cars to start supplying. They currently offer OEM CF and fiberglass hoods for the SN95 and later. For the Terminator, they also make an OEM CF hood that looked great if you wanted to keep the stock look. I opted for the cowl induction hood to help cool the KB off.
